Technical background: PhD in Physics (studies at RWTH Aachen University, PhD fellowship at Forschungszentrum Jülich)
   
1993: Entry into the field of intellectual property as a trainee patent attorney in the patent law firm of Werner E. König.
1997: Accredited as German Patent Attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney
1998: Accredited as European Patent Attorney

 
His work on intellectual property rights focuses particularly on cases with a physics background and on mechanical and electrical engineering. Dr. Naeven is also involved in issues of trade marks, designs, licenses and employed inventors’ law.

Member of the Patentanwaltskammer (Chamber of German Patent Attorneys) and further professional organizations, in particualar the Bundesverband Deutscher Patentanwälte e.V. (Federal Association of German Patent Attorneys), the Vereinigung der Nordrhein-Westfälischen Patentanwälte e.V. (Association of the patent attorneys in North Rhine – Westphalia), Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht e.V.
